At the heart of this campaign is my post-card initiative, I wanted to find a way to use my photography to map out the sheer level of gendered violence in our public spaces. I began my research by creating a google form where people can anonymously submit their stories around sexual violence and I then proceeded to photograph those locations. Every story is handleded with respect and care, participants can talk about their story as much or as little as they like.
This post card initiative turns locations into undeniable proof of the dangers women face on a daily basis. Each post card features a location where sexual violence has taken place, paired with a snippet from an anonymous testimony from a survivor of sexual violence. These stories, gathered through my anonymous questionnaire, highlight the urgent need for more attention on safety against sexual violence against women and girls. We need safer streets, more vigilance, and better protection laws.
These postcards aren’t just messages—they’re demands. I send them directly to city council officials and MPs, ensuring that the voices of survivors are impossible to ignore.
Your story matters. If you’ve experienced harassment or violence in Southampton, you can anonymously share your experience and help strengthen this campaign.
