The Rose Road Association is a charity providing a range of care and support services to children and young adults with complex physical and learning disabilities, and their families.
They were founded in 1952 by a group of parents who wanted more for their children.
Today they continue that mission to enable disabled children, young people and adults to thrive feel a sense of belong, feel safe, socialise and achieve their aspirations and goals.
This project aims to visually showcase how this charity overcome the seemingly unnoticed and invisible barriers young disabled people face on a day-to-day basis.
In portraying the daily activities and connections fostered at The Rose Road Association, the lens becomes a method of celebrating how Rose Road actively dismantles these barriers that, to the rest of society, go unnoticed.
These photos will be on display in an installation at the Copeland gallery on the 24th and 25th of March 2024
